900 Global Portal
What should I know about the Portal? •Asymmetric Conduit A.I. Core: high 2.59 RG clears the front, .050 differential unloads down lane •Stronger RB 92 Solid Reactive cover at a Power Edge finish for optimal traction •One of the sharpest backends 900 Global has ever built, for medium-heavy to heavy oil
What the Specs Tell Us
The 900 Global RB 92 Solid Reactive coverstock offers strong traction in oil, reading the midlane early for a smooth, controlled arc. With an RG of 2.59 and a .050 differential, this core stores energy longer, pushing further down the lane with strong flare potential that creates an aggressive ball motion. Designed for heavy oil, this ball has the surface and core combination to handle the volume and still make a move to the pocket.

The 900 Global Portal gives me a really strong and dependable look when I need something that reads the lane without being overly aggressive off the spot. It picks up nicely in the midlane and gives me a smooth, continuous motion through the pins that makes it easy to control the pocket. Compared to the Ion Pro Solid, the Portal gives me a little more overall strength and shape while still maintaining that predictable, controllable feel. Compared to the Next Factor, I see the Portal as the smoother and more rounded option, especially when I don't want the ball to be too responsive downlane. It gives me a great blend of strength, control, and continuation, and I can see the Portal being a really useful benchmark-type piece in my bag on a wide variety of conditions.
Alright 900 Global fans, if you want a ball that will make your jaw drop it is definitely the Portal. I drilled mine up last Friday right before I was going to sub for a friend in a house that has a ton of friction to the outside and a big tournament that has always been known to be very dry on Sunday. Lets just say this ball was moving like crazy on the backend in practice on Friday night so I started with a different ball but after about 5 fames and not liking the look I said what the heck, grabbed the Portal and I didn’t take the ball off the ball return until I was done. I was able to play straight up 10 and was able to move in a bit and the ball didn’t quit on the backend. Now Sunday was a totally different story, practice I haven’t seen that many shots clip 3 off the right. I didn’t even try the ball in practice and went to a 1000 Grit Wicked Gremlin for the first half of game 1. At this point I just wanted to see what this ball would do and played 1 shot up 10 and left a 7 pin. I moved left and was rolling 15 at the arrows to about 10 and the ball just started striking. I was able to finish game 1 with a 192 with the Portal and then each game we moved right I was able to throw 11 strikes for a 266 game 2 then went 217 and 259 for one of my highest sets in years in this tournament at 934. For games 3 and 4 I only had to move about 2 to 3 boards left and the ball didn’t quit. This ball made me look good even on bad shots. It will be in my bag for league this week.
The 900 Global Portal is a really impressive bowling ball, especially when it comes to its backend motion. The Portal gives you a smooth read through the midlane before really coming alive down the lane and creating a strong, continuous backend motion. What I really like about this ball is how much energy it saves for the back part of the lane, allowing it to make a noticeable move toward the pocket without feeling too uncontrollable. It has a really nice combination of length and backend that makes it fun to watch go through the pins. Even though the Portal has plenty of backend, it still feels smooth and predictable, which makes it easier to trust when you're playing different parts of the lane. Overall, if you're looking for a bowling ball that gives you that clean look through the front with a strong and continuous backend, the 900 Global Portal is definitely a ball worth checking out.
900 Global Portal — RB 92 Solid Reactive | Conduit A.I. Core | RG 2.59 | Diff 0.050 | Box Finish: Storm Power Edge The Portal gives me a really nice combination of length and strong backend motion. With my high rev rate and medium-to-high speed, I like that it clears the front of the lane easily but still picks up enough in the midlane to stay predictable. Once it gets downlane, it really comes alive and makes a strong, continuous move toward the pocket without feeling uncontrollable. I can see this being a great ball when I need something that saves energy and gives me a strong move downlane. What I really like about the Portal is how smooth and predictable it is while still having plenty of backend. It's cleaner and quicker off the spot than some of my stronger equipment, which makes it a great option as the lanes start to open up. I can move inside as the night goes on without losing the ball's shape, and it still carries really well through the pins. For my game, the Portal is a great medium-condition ball that gives me the length and backend I like without being too aggressive.
900 Global Portal 4 3/4 x4 1/2 x2. Asymmetrical Solid featuring the RB92 cover with the Conduit AI core with Power Edge out of the box. This ball is way different than anything we've seen in a while. It is definitely super clean with the polish. A lot of guys are taking the shine off before even drilling it but I left mine at box finish just to see how it looked. I see myself throwing this ball when the lanes get a little choppy and the fronts go and I need something a little angular off the spot. Because of its cleaner cover I realized I needed to be more forward with my hand or the ball never saw the lane in time. I think this Portal will be a great league ball for house shots or in centers that have more built in friction. If you plan on using this on any kind of volume I would definitely add a bit of surface. Get yours today at your local Storm VIP Pro Shop #goglobal
Right Hand - 15.5 mph down lane, 335 +/-, PAP 4.75, 1/2 up, layout is 4.5x3x2. I have bowled on a house shot at Bowlero Edmond, OK and used on one game on a 40ft, 29.3ml challenge shot. The 900 Global Portal is a ball worth looking at if you want a strong, continuous motion that can help you control the pocket without sacrificing hitting power. The portal gets you through the fronts with a very strong and angular action to the pocket! Every bowler type can and should throw this ball. League bowlers looking for a ball that fits a useful spot in their arsenal. Tournament players who need to match ball motion to changing lane conditions. And, bowlers who prefer control and who favor a predictable motion over a violent change of direction. I used this ball for the first time in league play and used it for all three games. I went 268, 257, 234 for a 759 and only moved 10 board with my feet, which is typically much more. This ball works! And the solid red cover looks amazing going down the lane. The 900 Global Portal deserves consideration if you're looking for a ball that can give you a dependable read and a strong motion through the pins. It gets through the fronts cleanly, has a defined backend and likes the transition. Thanks, Mike Walker
Introducing the new Portal by 900 Global! The layout on this ball is 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 x 2 (60 x 4 3/4 x 30 using the dual angle layout). This ball shocked me, in amazing way. The new Conduit core is designed to save energy for the back part of the lane, along with the RB92 coverstock to create that traction needed from a solid, and finished with Power Edge shine to it. I used this ball after rolling with the Perfect Gem, because the lanes were transitioning quickly. But, this Portal provides length and a predictable motion off the spot and drives through the pins. Think of an Ion Pro Solid but more cleaner and more response downlane. This ball will definitely be in my bag for league and tournaments to help me with transition! And don’t be afraid to use some surface on this Portal if you are looking for an earlier yet predictable motion. RG: 2.59 #15 RG: Diff. 0.050 PSA 0.019 #15 Finish: Power Edge Fragrance: NA Rt hand Speed 15-16 MPH PAP 3 7/8 1/4 over Drilling: 85 x 4" x 35 VLS The NEW 900 Global Portal, a new look from Storm. Length, free push and recovery. A must have for the burn, high friction houses or slower ball speeds like me. The 2.59 RG gives me a great push. Reminds of the Next Factor but a touch earlier and more aggressive off the spot, 5 deeper on the lane. Definitely has a hard arc and I noticed the more axis rotation I give it the more it screams off the spot. Great medium to medium dry for my style. Very readable ball motion. Layout of 85 x 4" x 35. I need skid up front and this ball gives me that without any surface change. Must have for a tournament arsenal. Joe Arvai 900 Global Pro Shop Staff
