2022 USBC Junior Gold U18 U20 Pattern #2
Junior Gold
The 2022 USBC Junior Gold U18/U20 Pattern #2 is a 40-foot medium oil pattern with a 3.5:1 forward-to-reverse ratio that creates a moderately challenging environment favoring controlled, precision-based play over aggressive aggression. The 16.45mL forward volume paired with 10.4mL in reverse generates a moderately walled lane with defined breakpoints, requiring bowlers to execute quality shot-making rather than relying on heavy hook potential, as the 537 total boards crossed indicate a pattern that demands respect through the front end. This KEGEL-conditioned pattern rewards mid-lane control and consistency, making it well-suited for bowlers who can manage line adjustments and throw quality revolutions without excessive axis rotation, while higher rev players may find the forward volume slightly constraining compared to steeper medium patterns.
